About
About us
Kids Research is the research body of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN). We aim to improve the health care of children by translating new discoveries into clinical practice. Our vision is to be a global leader in translational research and drive excellence in paediatric health.
We were launched in February 2009 as the Kids Research Institute, the research arm of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead responsible for the governance and management of research for the hospital. In June 2010, we became a part of the newly formed Sydney Children's Hospitals Network.
In 2018, the Kids Research Institute merged with Randwick Paediatric Research to become the current research body serving the SCHN we know today as Kids Research. Since being launched, Kids Research has grown from 250 researchers, clinical and auxiliary staff to over 600.
We are celebrating 15 years as a leading paediatric research body in Australia, reflecting on our innovations, collaborations and impact in paediatric health research.
