The Developmental Psychiatry research team are part of the Kids Mental Health Research group at Kids Research based at both The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

We conduct research to support the mental health needs of children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders and intellectual disability. The multidisciplinary teams are integrated in the community and schools who work together to innovate, research, and disseminate best practice interventions to promote mental health in children with developmental disorders.

Objective

We focus on furthering the understanding of children with developmental disability and mental health problems and enhancing children's resilience to developing psychopathology in later life.
