Neuropsychology

The Neuropsychology research group investigates the relationships between cognitive functions, sleep, neurobiological mechanisms, and genetics in childhood neurological disorders. A major focus of our research is Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), a genetic condition causing benign tumour growth along nerves and neurological changes, often accompanied by learning, social, and behavioural challenges.

Primary research efforts include developing and/or evaluating innovative interventions to improve sleep, cognition, and learning as well as improving early diagnosis and detection of neurodevelopmental conditions. Our research focuses on bridging laboratory discoveries with clinical applications through translational research methods and clinical trials.

Through collaboration with The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Neurogenetics Clinic, we aim to deliver transformative outcomes for young patients through improvement in management of symptoms and quality of life.

The Neuropsychology group is led by Dr Natalie Pride.
