Bioengineering

Our bioengineering research investigates the potential use of technology and biomedical materials to create next-generation heart valve replacements. It aims to significantly reduce the number of operations for RV-PA conduit replacement by creating patient-specific polymeric heart valves that accommodate patient growth via innovative spatial and anatomic valve designs and will achieve this through the inputs of our multi-disciplinary team of cardiac surgeons, bioengineers, computational modelling specialists, scientists, and researchers.
